COLUMBUS
Stephen Douglas “Doug” Hamm, 68, of Columbus, passed away at 1:39 p.m. Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Doug was born March 15, 1954, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Robert Lee and Louise Mourey Hamm.
Doug was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 1977 after serving his country during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed fishing, camping and reading his bible.
Survivors include his sisters, Janet Ballard, Cindy Tuttle; brother, Gary Hamm, all of Columbus; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Susie Risser, Betty Hamm, Nancy Austerman; brother, Jimmie Hamm and brother-in-law, Clifton Ballard.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Virgil Clotfleter officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
