Panthers sweep Jets
HOPE — Jennings County swept a dual meet with Hauser on Tuesday, winning the boys meet 92-31 and the girls contest 96-23.
Bryson Webster won the shot put (30 feet) and discus (100-0), and Cole Marksberry took the 110-meter hurdles (18.5 seconds) and 300 hurdles (45.5) to lead the Panther boys. Other winners for Jennings were Logan McIntosh in the high jump (5-6), Aidan Ernstes in the 1,600 (5:04), Brenden Baker in the 800 (2:14), Branden Braun in the 200 (24.5) and Eli Wahlman in the 3,200 (10:30). The Panthers also swept the 4×800 (8:50), 4×100 (47.7) and 4×400 (4:02.0) relays.
Hauser’s Aleck Lopez won the long jump (19-6), 100 (11.6) and 400 (52.5).
For the girls, Jennings was led by wins from Cheyeanna Leslie in the shot (27-0) and discus (61-0), Rachel Manning in the 100 (14.0) and 200 (28.7) and Avery Willhite in the 1,600 (6:19). Rilee Hicks took the high jump (4-6), Emilee Baugess captured the 100 hurdles (20.2), Sasha Hicks won the 400 (1:10.0), Elizabeth Evans took the 300 hurdles (58.6) and the Panthers swept the 4×800 (12:40), 4×100 (58.3) and 4×400 (5:13.6) relays.
The Jets’ Lilly Lockridge won the long jump (12-1), and Reiss Kistler took the 3,200 (18:25).
SOFTBALL
Jets fall to Braves
BROWNSTOWN — Hauser scored a run in the top of the seventh to tie it, but Brownstown Central pushed across a run in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a 4-3 victory.
Pitcher Paige McDaniel went 2 for 2 with a double for the Jets (1-1). Haylin Campbell went 2 for 3, and Hannah Taylor went 2 for 4 with a double.
Trinity no-hits South Decatur
GREENSBURG — Grace Lance threw a no-hitter to lift Trinity Lutheran a 17-0, five-inning win at South Decatur.
Bailey Tabeling went 2 for 2 for Trinity. Russell went 2 for 4.
