COLUMBUS, INDIANA
Christine George, 80, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 7:43 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Christine entered life October 4, 1941, in Indianapolis; the daughter of Forrest and Mary Lee Charles Crowder.
Christine was employed at Cummins Engine Company retiring after 36 years of service. An animal lover, Christine was a supporter of the Bartholomew and Brown County Humane Societies. She was an avid reader, and she had a strong passion for horses. After retirement, Christine and her husband, Frank enjoyed traveling in their RV with friends and their lifelong companions, Jerry and Judy Horn.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Charles “Frank” George; daughters, Deborah (Victor) Bartes of Brown County, Pam (David) Wilcoxon of Dunnellon, Florida and Donna (Ted) Loesch of Columbus; son, Roger Burton of Columbus; grandchildren, Nicole (Zach) Roberson of Florida, Brad Burton of Columbus and Talisha (Logan) Compton of Columbus; nine great-grandchildren; Frank’s children, Darin (Donna) George of Bedford, Patricia George of Bedford and Marty George of Bedford; two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Kimberly Sue Burton.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, April 4, 2022, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Derek George officiating. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Christine will be laid to rest in Section 87 at the Garland Brook Cemetery.
