Jet boys win tri meet
CROTHERSVILLE — Hauser’s boys won a tri meet Monday at Crothersville, scoring 103 points to 24 for Crothersville and 20 for Trinity Lutheran.
Aleck Lopez won the long jump (20 feet, 1 inch) and 400 meters (52.8 seconds), Luke Bruner took the shot put (31-1) and discus (98-4), Cody Vincent captured the 100 (12.7) and 200 (26.7) and Cephus Zulu won the 110 hurdles (18.7) and 300 hurdles (45.1) to lead the Jet boys. Alex Bower took the high jump (5-4), Colin Kistler captured the 800 (2:20.0) and Hauser swept the 4×800 (10:26), 4×100 (53.7) and 4×400 (3:48) relays.
Crothersville won the girls meet with 55 points to 46 for Trinity and 31 for Hauser.
Trinity’s Emalee Goss won the high jump (4-11), 100 (13.8) and 200 (29.9), and Jocelyn Love took the 100 hurdles (18.1) and 300 hurdles (56.8). Sadie Nay captured the 400 (1:12), and the Cougars won the 4×400 relay (5:06).
SOFTBALL
Shiners stop Jets
RISING SUN — Rising Sun jumped out to a 7-0 lead after three innings and held on for an 8-6 win against Hauser.
Izzy Brunner went 2 for 3, Hannah Taylor went 2 for 4 with a double and Lucie Asher went 2 for 4 for the Jets (1-2), who outhit the Shiners 11-10. Bayleigh Rutherford had three RBIs.
Lancers fall to Cubs
EDINBURGH — Edinburgh was within 5-4 after five innings, but Franklin pulled away for a 12-4 victory.
Kyah Streeval went 3 for 4 with and two RBIs for the Lancers (0-3). MacKenzie Bieker struck out 12.
Hornets topple Cougars
HENRYVILLE — Henryville scored 11 times in the first inning and went on to post a 14-7 win against South Decatur.
Loryn Pate went 4 for 4 with two RBIs for the Cougars (1-2). Lakota Henry went 2 for 4 with a double and four RBIs, Kassidy Haley went 2 for 4 with a triple and Molly Eden went 2 for 4 with a double.
Trinity downs Orleans
SEYMOUR — Grace Lance threw a 3-hit shutout and had two RBIs to lead Trinity Lutheran to a 5-4 win against Orleans.
Dianna Munoz also had two RBIs for the Cougars (4-0). Bailey Tabeling had two hits.

Twisters top Jets
HOPE — Hauser opened its season with a 4-1 loss to Oldenburg Academy.
Addyson Barriger beat Kloie Lehma 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Jets.
Hauser’s Bella Kilps fell to Isabel Price 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, and Lydia Jordan lost to Evie Vanderpoel 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. Charlie Clark and Gabby Johns fell to Mimi Wilder and Evelyn Hunter 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, and Mattie Foster and Gracie Blair lost to Emma Back and Mary Hunter 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
BASEBALL
Cougars blank Eagles
GREENSBURG — Devin Pate and Avery Seegers combined on a three-hit shutout to lead South Decatur to a 6-0 win against Jac-Cen-Del.
Dale Peters went 2 for 3 to record half of the hits for the Cougars (2-1).
