Letter: Vote Greg Patterson, servant leader for county council

From: Jenny Hackman-Whiteside

Columbus

Greg and Thecla Patterson taught their two children to help those in need, to love their neighbor, and to do so without seeking recognition. This was not mere talk for them; they demonstrated it through their actions.

When Bartholomew County was unexpectedly impacted by the flood of 2008, Greg Patterson, like many of you, spent many hours helping friends and strangers who were in need. It was that experience that inspired him to continue providing relief to those impacted by sudden tragedies.

Since the flood of 2008, Greg and his family have been volunteering with Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief. After a few deployments he and his wife, Thecla, were asked to become part of the site leadership team. They have led teams for over 20 relief efforts across the United States to 15 different states, helping families impacted by tornadoes, floods and hurricanes. Greg and Thecla have a passion for this volunteer work, because they feel fulfilled by providing help and hope to those who are experiencing devastation. Galatians 5:13 says, “through love, serve one another,” and Greg lives by this Scripture with a servant’s heart.

As a Bartholomew County councilman, Greg will listen to your needs and will make informed decisions that best serve our community. I am confident that Greg will be a true servant leader who will always put you first. Please join me in voting for Greg Patterson for Bartholomew County Council District 1.
