Today is National Lineworker Appreciation Day, and Duke Energy is saluting these first responders who climb tall poles or work in sky-high bucket trucks in all elements and are dedicated to keeping the power on and keeping families and communities safe.
“Lineworkers sacrifice their comfort for ours, leaving the security of their homes to ensure that the lights stay on,” Duke Energy Indiana State President Stan Pinegar said in a statement marking National Lineworker Appreciation Day. “We appreciate those sacrifices and the dedication it takes to do a job that touches the lives of everyone – and hope you will join us in recognizing that work.”
While National Lineworker Appreciation Day is celebrated today, Pinegar said lineworkers are valued and appreciated each day for the outstanding work they do safely and reliably serving customers and communities.
“We thank them for their service and devotion to Indiana,” he said. “Please take a moment to thank a lineworker in your community.”
