Bull Dogs rout Cougars

BLOOMINGTON — Class 4A No. 4 Columbus North pounded out 21 hits Tuesday in rolling to a 16-0 Conference Indiana win at Bloomington North.

Bailey King went 5 for 5 with two RBIs, Kirsten Danford went 4 for 5 with a double and Kelsey Lovelace went 4 for 6 with a two doubles, a triple and three RBIs for the Bull Dogs (9-1, 3-0). Maddi Rutan went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, Lexi Heafner went 2 for 4 and Josie Lemmons went 2 for 5 with four RBIs.

Rutan threw a five-hit shutout and struck out 10.

Lancers top Crusaders

EDINBURGH — Columbus Christian was within 4-3 after 1 1/2 innings, but Edinburgh scored six times in the second and six more in the third to pull away for a 16-3, five-inning victory.

MacKenzie Bieker went 2 for 2 and combined with Alix Streeval and Kyah Streeval on a one-hitter for the Lancers (4-4). Angel Carman had two RBIs.

Paige Harden and Mara Nickerson combined on a five-hitter for the Crusaders (0-4).

Rebels stop Cougars

HANOVER — South Decatur pounded out nine hits, but fell to Southwestern (Hanover) 10-3.

Kassidy Haley went 2 for 3 with a double for the Cougars (1-5). Loryn Pate went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Madison Mikulec went 2 for 4.

Mustangs stop Eagles

ELLETTSVILLE — Brown County matched Edgewood with seven hits, but dropped a 13-2, five-inning Western Indiana Conference decision.

Ally Hash went 2 for 3, and Kailey Buccos had an RBI-double for Eagles (0-6, 0-2).

Bull Dogs blank Flashes

INDIANAPOLIS — Zach McLean threw a five-hit shutout and struck out 15 to lead Columbus North to a 7-0 win at Franklin Central.

Luke Harmon went 2 for 3 with two doubles for the Bull Dogs (5-2-1). Will Baker went 2 for 4 with a double and three RBIs, and Dyllan Redmon went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.

Dragons topple East

SELLERSBURG — Class 3A No. 7 Silver Creek scored twice in the sixth to break a 4-4 tie and claim a 6-4 win against Columbus East.

Logan Christophel went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for the Olympians (4-5-1). Blake Borkhardt went 2 for 3, and Alex McComb smacked a home run.

Jets upset Pirates

GREENSBURG — Owen McIntyre threw a four-hitter to lead Hauser to a 5-4 win at Greensburg.

Levi Gollmer went 2 for 4 with a triple for the Jets (4-6). Caleb Walker had two RBIs.

Floyd edges Jennings

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County led 1-0 after four innings, but Floyd Central scored twice in the fifth and held on for a 2-1 win.

Austin Byford had an RBI-single for the Panthers (7-3).

Edgewood blanks Eagles

ELLETTSVILLE — Brown County limited Edgewood to five hits, but endured a 20-0, five-inning WIC loss at Edgewood.

Sawyer Gore had the lone hit for the Eagles (0-3, 0-1).

North shuts out Southport

INDIANAPOLIS — No. 2 Columbus North did not drop a game in the five matches in rolling to a 5-0 Conference Indiana win at Southport.

Ashlie Wilson against Carlie Street at No. 1 singles, Kathryn Wilson against Macey Lukas at No. 2 singls and Aya Saad against Annika Chan at No. 3 singles all won by 6-0, 6-0 scores for the Bull Dogs (3-0, 2-0).

Tiffany Fu and Leah George against Avalell Traylor and Ngun Cer at No. 1 doubles and Annabelle Sun and Sydney Cooper against Ngun Mani and Annie Sung at No. 2 doubles also won by 6-0, 6-0 scores.

East falls to Whiteland

WHITELAND — Whiteland won all five matches in straight sets in a 5-0 win against Columbus East.

Katie Hong fell to Maddy Nieto 7-5, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Catherine Millwood lost to Sara Ullrich 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2 singles and Ruth Federle fell to Candace Stephenson 6-2, 6-0 at No. 3 singles for the Olympians (0-6).

East’s Katey Rieckers and Caroline Emerick lost to Brenna Atchinson and Kailyn Sheridan 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Ashlynn Waddle and Avery Brooks fell to Cathy Nguyen and Kinsey Shipp 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 doubles.

Jets slip past Lions

HOPE — Hauser pulled out a close win at No. 2 doubles to claim a 3-2 victory against Rushville.

Bella Kilps beat Audrey Gulley 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles for the Jets (2-3). Gabby Johns and Charlie Clark downed Cora Emory and Janne Vogel 6-2 6-1 at No. 1 doubles, and Mattie Foster and Abby Blair topped Mallory McDaniel and Jade Edwards 7-6 (4), 6-4 at No. 2 doubles.

Hauser’s Lydia Jordan fell to Isabella Wilson 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, and Addyson Barriger lost to Jin Calaf 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.

Stars nip Panthers

BEDFORD — Bedford North Lawrence pulled out a three-set win at No. 3 singles to post a 3-2 victory against Jennings County.

Reagan Brown beat Becca Epping 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, and Tatum Brown topped Rachel Kidd 6-3, 6-0 at No. 2 singles for the Panthers (2-4).

Jennings’ Mia Silvey fell to Izy Alldredge 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. Maria Ecker Alberti and Lucy Brown lost to Bella Stigall and Mallory Pride 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, and Caitlyn Shuck and Amy Vogel fell to Kenley Craig and Ashlyn Wever 7-6 (4), 6-0 at No. 2 doubles.

East outscores Jennings

NORTH VERNON — Pierce Arnholt won medalist honors with a 39 to lead Columbus East to a 173-195 win against Jennings County at St. Anne’s.

Spencer Erfmeier and Carter Greene each shot 44 for the Olympians. Ben Luedeke carded a 46, J.T. Kuhlman added a 47, Conrad Eggers shot 50, Jared Brooks had a 51 and Joshua Saewert finished with a 61.

Jack George led the Panthers with a 43. Jake Grider carded a 47, Rowan Cook added a 50, Tanner Stearns shot 55 and Davey Shaw had a 59.

Lancers take third

EDINBURGH — Max Blandford finished in a three-way tie for medalist honors with a 38, but Edinburgh took third in a tri match at Timbergate. Greenwood won with a 159 to 185 for Indian Creek and 187 for the Lancers.

Trevor Moon carded a 47 for Edinburgh. Devyn Milburn added a 50, Mason Calhoun shot 52, Ian Buchanan had a 58, Cash Cunningham finished with a 59, Keegan Smith shot 67 and Wyatt Burton had a 68.
