AMERICAN PIE 2022, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., April 28, Columbus North High School, 1400 25th St., Columbus. “American Pie” started out on Thursdays and is returning to that tradition as the concert returns to in-person. “American Pie” gives high school students the chance to shine on stage for a crowd of cheering fans. For community members, it is a walk down memory lane, an entertaining rock ‘n’ roll show, and a history lesson rolled into one fabulous night. Enjoy an evening of music presented by talented students as they recreate performances from the rockin’ decades. Commentary puts the songs in context to create a Magical History Tour. CINDERELLA, 1 p.m., May 7, Columbus North High School Auditorium, 1400 25th St., Columbus. Dancers Studio, Inc. presents “Cinderella” featuring other contemporary works. Tickets cost $15 cash or check or $16 credit card. Lap children do not require a ticket. Tickets will be available for sale at the studio. If tickets remain, they will be available at the door as well. Open seating in the auditorium – seats will be first come, first served.

5K RUN/WALK, 8:30 a.m., May 14, Ivy Tech Community College Columbus, 4475 Central Ave., Columbus. The Heartland Division of Kiwanis is sponsoring a 5K Run/Walk to benefit Riley Hospital for Children. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Ivy Tech Community College. Goodie bags, a raffle with 20+ great prizes and food and drink will be available for all participants. Riley Hospital will be on campus to distribute information about Riley and a photo op with the Riley Bear will be available all morning. For preregistration, go to indianatiming.com. DOWNTOWN COLUMBUS STORYWALK, downtown Columbus. The story begins in the window of Hoosier Sporting Goods at 611 Washington St. Follow the windows south to Third Street, and then head north to Viewpoint Books.

BLACKWELL PARK STORYWALK, Blackwell Park, 1550 Whitney Court, Columbus. Enjoy some fresh air while strolling the Bartholomew County Public Library’s StoryWalk. Together with the Columbus Parks and Recreation Department, the library is excited to bring you “The Things About Bees” by Shabazz Larkin in April and “Chez Bob” by Bob Shea in May. The StoryWalk is located along the People Trail near the Pollinator Park in Blackwell Park.

Galleries, museums, exhibits

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY, 524 Third St., Columbus. The museum is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. BCHS hosts two permanent exhibits that share the history and heritage of Bartholomew County. Learn about our county through interactive, hands-on exhibits that include a map table, notable people, county timeline, Then and Now, Did you Know, early industrialists and videos of Reeves steam engines. GALLERY 506, Columbus Indiana Visitors Center, 506 Fifth St., Columbus. Open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Gary Anderson presents his exhibit of collages. The exhibit is open until April 30.

YELLOW TRAIL MUSEUM/VISITOR CENTER, west side of Hope Town Square, 644 Main St., Hope. The museum is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from Noon to 4 p.m. or by appointment. Cruise-ins will be May 6 and the first Friday of June, July, August, and September. ATTERBURY-BAKALAR AIR MUSEUM, located at Columbus Municipal Airport, 4742 Ray Boll Blvd., Columbus, is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
