The Indiana DNR is offering a free day of outdoor recreation with free admission to state parks, state recreation areas and state forests on Sunday, along with the first free fishing day of the year.
The event is part of Visit Indiana Week, a promotion of the Indiana Destinations Development Corp., that runs through May 7.
In addition to free admission to state parks and recreation areas on Sunday, the free fishing day means Indiana residents may fish with out a license or trout/salmon stamp, with all size and bag limits still applying for anyone who keeps the fish they catch.
Free Fishing Day is for all public waters in Indiana. Upcoming free fishing days are June 4 and 5 and Sept. 24.
