Bartholomew County Works offers class

Bartholomew County Works will offer its next Job Readiness Training Workshop the week of May 9.

The sessions will be held in the Sarla Kalsi Conference Room at YES Cinema, in downtown Columbus.

Participants attending the week-long workshop will attend from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Workshop topics include applications, resumes, interviews, personality and skill inventories, attitude and empowerment, relationships and networking, dealing with stress, conflict resolution, goal setting, interview attire, body language, money management, healthy choices, answers to tough questions and more.

The sessions also offer an opportunity to meet potential employers who attend segments of the program.

Recent graduates have received full-time job offers within one week of class completion with an average pay rate of about $18 per hour.

Class size is limited and the deadline to apply for May’s workshop is Wednesday.

Bartholomew County Works is a program committed to helping participants improve their lives, gain full-time employment and achieve economic self-sufficiency.

The extended support team for Bartholomew County Works provides resources to those accepted into the program in a number of areas including transportation, finances and budget setting, attire and more.
