Barbara June Criswell passed away at her home in the early morning on May 3, 2022. She was 90 years old. Born January 23, 1932 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Edythe Caudell McKay and Thomas Cochran. Her father was fatally injured while clearing a tree from their property 10 days before her birth.
Barbara married her Flat Rock High School sweetheart, Terry Keith Criswell, on November 3,1951. He died on July 14,1987.
She enjoyed decorating her home, gardening, and settling down to a good book, cross-stitching, and jigsaw puzzles. She was the heart of her family and loved spending time with them, as they did with her.
Survivors include a son, Brad Criswell (Susan) of Columbus; daughters, Joellen Criswell (Blake Noland) of Columbus and Susie Criswell of Greenwood; grandchildren, Tyler Criswell of Maineville, Ohio and Sarah Criswell of Portland, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by a son, Todd Criswell (Susie’s twin); a brother, Kenneth Cochran; and a sister, Lois Baker.
A family graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Flat Rock Cemetery, Flat Rock, IN with Steve Yeaton officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s name to Our Hospice of South-Central Indiana.
