COLUMBUS
Jerry R. Palmer, 69, of Columbus, passed from this life at 10:02 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2022, at his home.
Mr. Palmer was born December 12, 1952, in Columbus, the son of John R. and Nellie Wells Palmer.
He married Marsha G. Lindsay, February 12, 1999.
Mr. Palmer was a former cook at Sadie’s Family Dining.
He enjoyed working on and racing go-karts, fishing, horseback riding but most of all spending time with family.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years; children, John (Kathy) Palmer, Richard (Ashley) Palmer, Jay Palmer, Shawn Palmer, Heather Palmer, Devan (Ashley) Alderson, Amber Palmer and Ashley Palmer all of Columbus and Buffy (Roger) Cooney of North Vernon; stepdaughter, Misty Miller of Edinburgh; stepson, Bobby (Daphney) Miller of Edinburgh; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Duain (Pam) Palmer of North Vernon; sisters, Sadie (David) Cress of Columbus, Nancy Palmer of Seymour, Trudy Zimmerman of Greensburg and Mandy Beier of Hope and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by his twin brother, Larry Palmer; a sister, Vicky Palmer; step-brothers, Lee and Ray Jackson; and stepsisters, Evelyn Eddelman, Kathy Jackson, Karen Jackson and Patty Palmer
The funeral will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Randy Bailey officiating.
Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
