North Vernon police report three overdoses in three days, one death

NORTH VERNON — North Vernon police have responded to three overdoses in three days.

The first two occurred on Sunday, May 29th, at about 11:48 a.m., police said. Two persons were reported to have been down in the kitchen area of a home. When officers arrived they administered naloxone to both persons prior to paramedics arriving. One person was revived. Paramedics began advanced life saving procedures on the second person and transported the person to the hospital. Unfortunately, this person did not recover and was pronounced deceased, police said.
The third overdose occurred on Tuesday, May 31 st, at about 11:18 a.m.
Officers responded to a 911 call of a person not breathing in a bedroom of a
residence. Officers arrived and assist paramedics. Naloxone was administered to
the person and they were transported to the hospital. This persons’ condition
improved.

An investigation continues into all three incidents.
