INDOT plans roadwork in Jennings, Jackson counties

Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Ragle Inc. plans to close the State Road 250 bridge over Slate Creek, on or after Monday, June 13, to complete a superstructure replacement project. The bridge is located roughly four miles west of State Road 3 in Jennings County, between County Road 675W and County Road 475W and will remain closed for up to 90 days. Traffic will be detoured along State Road 3, State Raod 256, and I-65 to Exit 41 at Uniontown. County Road 550W will remain open.

The contractor will also replace a box culvert on State Road 250 in Jackson County. The box culvert is four miles east of State Road 11 and will remain closed for up to 30 days, although a start date has not been set.

The $973,000 contract has an overall completion date of July 31, 2023.

In addition, INDOT will begin chip seal operations this week on U.S. 50 in Jennings County. Work will take place on shoulders only beginning today from just west of State Road 7 to State Road 3.
