Mary Lee Burch, 77, passed from her earthly home on Friday, June 3, 2022.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 8 at 12 p.m. at Parkside Baptist Church 1780 Rockyford Rd Columbus, Indiana 47203. Brother Dan Law will be officiating. She will be laid to rest at Vernon Cemetery in Vernon, Indiana. Friends may gather for visitation one hour prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Parkside Baptist Church.
Mary Lee attended grade school and part of Jr. High in North Vernon, Indiana. She moved to Rushville, Indiana in 1957 and graduated from Rushville High School in 1962. She was a member of Parkside Baptist Church (“The Church Where Love Lives”). She had many dear friends there and always appreciated the talents and love of her church family.
Mary Lee was born in Seymour, Indiana. She was the youngest child and only girl to Thomas and Dollie (Dudley) Proctor. Her “Big Brothers” were Thomas, Richard, William, Robert, and Jerry. She married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Burch in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church by Father Eisman on February 20, 1965. Their marriage was blessed in 1966 by their daughter, Amy, and then again in 1968 by their son, Adam. Amy marriage John Lawler in 1985 and Adam married Lorinda Wheatcraft in 1995. Mary Lee loved spending time alone with Bob as well as sharing their happiness with their family. She enjoyed reading, knitting, painting, and various craft projects.
Mary is survived by her husband, Bob; her children, Amy Lawler and Adam (Lorinda) Burch; one brother, Bob (Barbara) Proctor; two nephews, Jerald (Paula) and Kevin Proctor; nine nieces, Nora (Jerry) Branham; Becky (John) Elkins, Julie (Earnie) Wilson, Anita (Ron) Reeves, Rita (David) Padgett, Debbie (Jason) Wright, Krista (Scott) Jarvis, Lori (Jeff) Ernestes, and Jolene Proctor; as well as several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She has a very large and loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Dollie Proctor; as well as four of her “Big Brothers”, Thomas, Richard, William, and Jerry; one nephew, Thomas Mark “Markie” Proctor; one niece, Angela “Angie” Proctor; and sister-in-laws, Patty, Rosie, and Mary Frances Burch; Mary (Robertson) Proctor; Joan (Burch) Flinn; and Ruthie (Burch) Robertson.
