FORT WAYNE

Robert Lee Davis, 98, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. He was born to the late James Alfred and Bessie (Haines) Davis on April 5, 1924, in Amboy, Indiana.

Robert Honorably answered his Country’s Call during World War II in the United States Army. Mr. Davis retired after 46 years from Essex Wire in Fort Wayne. Bob was married to Carol (Clawson) Davis for 52 years, before she preceded him in death in 2002.

Robert enjoyed golf, bowling, and participating in the activities at Arbor Glenn Retirement Community. He was a proud member of the American Legion Lincoln Post 82 in Fort Wayne.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Jim) Arter of Fort Wayne, and son, Mark (LuAnn) Davis of Columbus, Indiana. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jim (Anna) Arter of Portland, Oregon; Matthew Arter of Orlando, Florida; Nicholas (Shannon) Davis of Olympia, Washington; Spencer Davis of Whidbey Island, Washington; Adam (Rebecca) Davis of Columbus, Indiana; Lisa (Cole) Parker, Christopher (Rachel) Davis, and Robin (Jason)Wiles of Fort Wayne, and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Also preceding him in death were his sons, James A. Davis and Charles R. Davis; sisters, Elaine Collins and Mary Wise; and brothers, Herbert Davis and Ralph Davis.

Following cremation, internment will take place at Converse Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to The American Legion Lincoln Post 82 at 2123 Taylor Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46802. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home in Fort Wayne.
