Duncan ties for 13th in Barbasol Championship

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. — Tyler Duncan got to within three shots of the lead in Sunday’s final round of the Barbasol Championship before settling for a tie for 13th place at 16-under-par 272.

Duncan, a 2008 Columbus North graduate, had to finish the first 14 holes of his third round on Sunday morning before beginning his final round at Keene Trace. He shot 69 in that third round and was tied for seventh going into the final round.

Duncan overcame bogeys on the first two holes of the final round to get to 3-under for the round and 19-under for the tournament, but then took an 8 on the par-3 No. 14. He bounced back with an eagle on the par-5 No. 15 before closing with three pars for an even-par 72.

Trey Mullinax won the tournament at 25-under 263. Kevin Streelman was one shot back at 24-under 264.
