State police arrest Indianapolis man found with $15,000 worth of cocaine in I-65 traffic stop

JACKSON COUNTY — Indiana State Police arrested an Indianapolis man after a traffic stop in which a half kilogram of suspected cocaine was found.

The investigation began shortly before 1 p.m. Monday when Master Trooper Randel Miller conducted a traffic stop on a 2022 Nissan Altima for multiple traffic infractions on I-65 southbound near the 51 mile marker in Jackson County. During the traffic stop, Miller observed numerous indicators of criminal activity along with the odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, Miller located a vacuum sealed bag containing approximately a half kilogram of suspected cocaine, along with marijuana and pills. More than $600 in cash was also located during the investigation.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, Rasheed E. Musheer, 27, Indianapolis, was arrested on preliminary charges of dealing in cocaine, Level 2 felony, possession of cocaine, Level 3 felony, and possession of marijuana, Class B misdemeanor.
