COLUMBUS
Alleen England, 85, of Columbus passed from this life on Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at 12:15 a.m. at Columbus Regional Hospital surrounded by her family.
Alleen was born on November 12, 1936, in Elizabethtown the daughter of James W. and Bertha L. Hadley Burton.
Alleen retired in 1991 from Cummins Engine Company, where she worked many years. She had a tremendous love for her family and enjoyed spending time with them and her granddogs. She enjoyed watching Nascar and basketball, especially I.U. and the Indiana Pacers.
Survivors include her daughter, Pam (Bob) Billman of Columbus; granddaughter, Eleanor (Sunil) Carspecken of Bloomington; step-granddaughters, Robin Alexander of South Carolina and Susan Billman of Columbus; sister, Wilma Jines; step-great grandchildren; Kayli and MacKenzie Billman, Jake and Nick Alexander and nieces and nephews, Ron (Jennifer) Jaggers, Steve Jaggers, Cathy (Mike) Terry, Don Jines, Dan (Anita) Burton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, James Burton, Paul Burton, Mildred Young, Donna Jaggers; and her beloved and special dog, Lady.
Services have been entrusted to Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Garland Brook Cemetery in Section 57 with Pastor Stephen Imlay officiating.
Memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home in memory of Ms. England to the Bartholomew County Humane Society.
