Longtime radio personality finds new station in life

A longtime local radio personality is now putting her communications skills to work for a local youth organization.

Brittany Gray, who for 13 years was an on-air personality on the QMIX 107.3 morning show, earlier this month accepted a position as communications and community impact manager for Bartholomew County Council for Youth Development. She praised CYD Director Heather Carlson and the organization staff.

“Leaving my first career love, radio, definitely feels like a leap of faith,” Gray, the mother of a 7-year-old son, said in an email. “But I can’t think of anyplace better to land than with Heather and the team at CYD. I’m looking forward to new challenges and being involved with the community in a whole new way.”

The Council for Youth Development is a coalition “that aligns efforts to advance a culture of positive youth development” in the county. As part of its ongoing mission, CYD stresses equal access for children and families to health, safety, education, engagement and support.

The council recently completed its Vision 2025 Youth Master Plan, and its youth ambassadors for 2022-23 recently participated in a retreat where, according to CYD, they “pushed themselves out of their comfort zones and came up with some impressive and exciting ideas for community service projects.”
