Hazel M. Goins, 84, of Scipio, passed from this life at 7:46 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at her home.
Mrs. Goins was born October 10, 1937, in Russell Springs, Kentucky, the daughter of Cyrus E. and Ova A. George Wilson.
She married David Goins, February 7, 1953. He preceded her in death August 25, 2010.
Hazel truly lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed staying busy outdoors by planting flowers and doing her yard work. She attended Reddington Christian Church where she participated in events with her friends. Hazel expressed her life through listening to bluegrass and gospel music with friends and family.
The most important thing to her was being devoted to her family, helping raise her grandchildren and visiting with family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Stephen (Sandra) Goins of Indianapolis and Sandra Goins of Scipio; grandchildren, Marissa (Willie) Bertram, Jason Mann, Matt (Michelle) Goins and Kimberlee Oliff; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Amber, Allie (Derek), Hanah, Zach, Drew, Kemper, Jada, Trynyn, Baileigh and Ariana; great-great grandchildren, Marylssa, Bladen, Brittley and Waylon; brothers, Sam (Lois) Wilson of Wisconsin, Jim (Donna) Wilson of Greenville, Indiana and Timmy (Lori) Wilson of California and a sister, Tammy Aubuchon of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, Joshua Goins, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
The funeral will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Ricky Persons officiating.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to time of service Wednesday.
Burial will be at Bethel Baptist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
