Bull Dogs blank Bears

INDIANAPOLIS — Seventh-ranked Columbus North did not lose a game in any of the five matches Wednesday in steamrolling to a 5-0 win at Lawrence Central.

Hank Lin beat Jeremiah Dixon at No. 1 singles, Darren Li blanked JJ Hughes at No. 2 singles and Toki Murabatashi topped Braxton Romiez at No. 3 singles, all by 6-0, 6-0 scores for the Bull Dogs (8-2).

North’s Amrit Kar and Anvay Atram downed Xavier Cisco and James Seal at No. 1 doubles, and Parth Shah and Parth Gupta defeated Zach Dowden and Jai Gupta at No. 2 doubles, also by 6-0, 6-0 scores.

Olympians top Eagles

NASHVILLE — Columbus East swept the singles matches and won by forfeit at both doubles spots Wednesday to post a 5-0 victory at Brown County.

Erik Takahashi beat Owen East 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, Matthew Degner topped Jon Kirchoffer 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and Brady Redelman defeated Sawyer Gore 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 singles for the Olympians (4-3).

East’s Max Banaschak and Talon Jessup at No. 1 doubles and Alex DePaul and Ethan Bumbalough at No. 2 doubles won by forfeit against the Eagles (2-8).

Columbus Christian falls

INDANAPOLIS — Columbus Christian endured a 25-16, 25-7, 25-15 loss Tuesday at Indy Genesis.

Anika Jenkins led the Crusaders (1-4) with three kills, two digs and two aces. Grace Johnson recorded five assists and two digs, Emma Murray had two blocks and Alexys Murray notched two digs.

Also for Columbus Christian, Emma Murray pounded two kills, Jenkins had one block and Emma Sewell added two assists and one ace.

Eagles sweep Patriots

NASHVILLE — Brown County had little trouble in rolling to a 25-12, 25-15, 25-18 Western Indiana Conference win Tuesday against Owen Valley.

Morgan Osborn led the Eagles (3-5, 2-1) with 13 assists and eight digs. Anna Stogsdill pounded 11 kills, Madi Hawley recorded 13 assists, Abigail Watson had two blocks and Londyn Koester served three aces.

Also for Brown County, Stogsdill tallied five assists, one block and two aces. Watson notched nine kills and two aces, and Hawley added three kills and five digs.

Lancers win in 5

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh dropped close second and fourth sets Tuesday, but cruised in the other three for a 25-20, 26-28, 25-17, 24-26, 15-5 win against Oldenburg Academy.

Gracie Crawhorn led the Lancers (9-2) with 12 kills, eight blocks, 35 digs and seven aces. Kyah Streeval recorded 35 assists.

Also for Edinburgh. Zoey Sida tallied six kills and 17 digs and MacKenzie Bieker tallied five kills, six blocks and 19 digs. Jessica Walsh added four kills and 24 digs, Mia Dodson had three blocks and Streeval notched 19 digs.

Trinity upsets Lions

SEYMOUR — Trinity Lutheran won a close first set, then rolled in the final two to upset Class A No. 2 Loogootee 27-25, 25-13, 25-11 on Tuesday.

Addison Darlage recorded 36 assists and one ace, and Laura Roeder had 27 digs and one ace to lead the Cougars (6-4). Bailey Tabeling pounded 21 kills and Kiley Zabel served one aces.

Also for Trinity, Carson Bowling tallied 14 kills, Drew Hubbard added seven kills and 10 digs, and Tabeling had 12 digs.
