Lang nets first collegiate goal

Michigan women’s soccer player Jenna Lang netted her first career collegiate goal in a 3-2 loss to Iowa State Thursday night.

Lang, a freshman from Columbus North, scored off a set piece in the 65th minute to tie the game at 2-2. The Cyclones scored the game-winning goal in the 81st minute.

The Wolverines are 3-2 and will take on Central Michigan on Sunday.

East graduates to start for UIndy

Two Columbus East graduates are expected to start on the offensive line for University of Indianapolis today when it opens the football season against Saint Xavier at 6 p.m.

Redshirt-junior Zach Clark begins his fourth season at right guard. Redshirt-junior Tyler Thomas, a transfer from Indiana Wesleyan, is set to make his first start at left tackle for the Greyhounds.

UIndy also features a pair of redshirt-freshmen from Columbus North — tight end Luke Bless and kicker Carter Ward.
