COLUMBUS
Oren D. Greenlee, 82, of Columbus passed from this life on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 4:00 a.m. at his son’s residence.
Mr. Greenlee was born on January 26, 1940, in Columbus the son of William N. Greenlee Sr. and Ethyl Cookson Greenlee. On June 30, 1960, he married Wilma J. Plowman.
He retired from Reeve’s Pulley after 33 years of service and was a member of Lowell General Baptist Church. He had a tremendous love for hunting and fishing, but above all he loved spending time with his family and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, Ed (Catherine) Greenlee of Columbus; grandson, James (Emily) Greenlee of Columbus; great grandchildren, Rowan, Olivia, Thomas, Lucas and a baby boy due in October; and siblings, Tommy Greenlee Sr., Barbara Hashman, and Keith Greenlee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wilma J. Greenlee on June 29, 2022; son, James “Tom” Greenlee; brothers, William N. Greenlee Jr. and Kenny Greenlee; and a sister, Marilyn Hignite.
The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Hampton officiating.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 9:30 a.m. to time of service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
