Beverly Lou Burnett

COLUMBUS, INDIANA

Beverly Lou Burnett, 77, entered an eternal rest, surrounded by her loved ones on September 7, 2022. Bev was born September 22, 1944, in Columbus to Garrett Courtney and Pauline Taylor.

Bev married the love of her life, Denzil Burnett, November 15, 1961, in Celina, Tennessee. Bev and Denzil went on to have four children. Bev was passionate about raising her children and spent many years as a stay-at-home mom. Bev retired from Lowes of Columbus in 2002. Bev’s hobbies included sewing, spending time with family, baking, and was known for her homemade doughnuts. Bev also looked forward to the yearly trips to Sarasota, Florida.

Bev is survived by her husband, Denzil Burnett; four children, Angela Burnett, Rusty (Paula) Burnett, John (Debbie) Burnett, and Aimee (John) Caldwell; six grandchildren, Justin (Ashley) Burnett, Shelby (Matthew) Wasson, Trey (Courtney) Shipley, Aaron (Kaylyn) Burnett, Quindon (Mara) Shipley, and Faith (Stephen) Schaumburg; and ten great-grandchildren that she adored. Bev is also survived by her sisters, Susan Dunham, and Jean Purdy. The family would like to offer their extended thanks to Hospice, neighbors, and friends for support and food.

Bev is preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Taylor; father, Garrett Courtney; brother, Larry Downing; grandson, Bradley Burnett; and son-in-law, David Pelley.

The funeral service will be at 4 pm on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with John Burnett officiating. Visitation will be from 1-4 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
