Northside tennis remains unbeaten after three more wins

The Northside Middle School boys tennis team won three matches in three days this week to improve to 6-0.

The Spartans beat Seymour 4-1 on Tuesday, Center Grove North 3-2 on Wednesday and Franklin Central 5-0 on Thursday.

Advait Aras, Shashu Sabapathy and Vyom Desai won varsity matches all three days for Northside. Other varsity winners of the Seymour and Franklin Central matches were the doubles team of Chandan Munnaluri and Alex Zeng. The doubles team of Cale Fitzsimmons and Shun Nakano won against Franklin Central.

The Spartans JV blanked Seymour 4-0 with winners including singles player Niranjan Pillai, and the doubles teams of Armando Duran-Blanc/Nakano, Sebastian Hartwell/Hiram Tame and Mateo Rosales/Vitor Potenza.

The JV fell to Center Grove North 5-2. Winners were the doubles teams of Hartwell/Nakano and Nicolas Moran Mendez/Tame.

The JV defeated Franklin Central 5-2 with winners including singles player Mendez and the doubles teams of Duran-Blanc/Tame, Desai/Sabapathy, Aras/Fitzsimmons and Hartwell/Nakano.

VOLLEYBALL

Panthers sweep matches

Jennings County’s seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball teams posted wins against Immanuel Lutheran on Thursday.

The eighth-graders won 25-20,25-16. Lilly Franks led the Panthers (12-3) with 10 digs and eight aces, and Aylah Belding pounded 10 kills.

The seventh-graders rolled 25-5, 25-15. Kassidy Warren and Madelyn Maschino each tallied three kills, and Lydia Martin served five aces.

The Jennings eighth-graders were coming off a 25-12, 25-19 win against Northside. Belding pounded 11 kills, Franks notched 10 digs and Paige Hack and Mille Greshman each served three aces.

The Panther seventh-graders beat Northside 25-13,25-17. Aniston Kent pounded seven kills, and Martin and Karmindy Lowman each served five aces.

Owls blank Panthers

Jennings County Middle School fell to Seymour 3-0 on Thursday.

Bryson Scroggins posted 12 saves for the Panthers (2-3-1).
