Columbus police detectives are conducting a death investigation after officers located an injured man earlier this morning.
At approximately 1:40 a.m., CPD officers were dispatched to the area of Indianapolis Road and Tellman Road in regards to a disturbance, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
When officers arrived on scene, they located the injured man in a nearby woodline. The man was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased by medical staff, Harris said.
An autopsy is scheduled for later this weekend.
