North wins showdown

BLOOMINGTON — Class 3A No. 8 Bloomington South scored in the second minute Tuesday night, but 3A No. 6 Columbus North, rallied for a 2-1 victory to clinch at least a tie for the Conference Indiana title.

Christian Cardoso tied the game in 11th minute when he scored off a free kick from Flynn Keele. Obed Oliva netted the game-winner in the 49th minute off an assist from Trent Liggett.

The Bull Dogs (11-1-1, 4-0) outshot the Panthers 15-9, with both teams putting six shots on goal. North’s Max Grewe posted five saves.

Jets upset Jackets

MORRISTOWN — Hauser picked up its first Mid-Hoosier Conference win of the season and avenged an earlier defeat with a 1-0 victory at Morristown.

Ethan House scored off an assist from Zach Weichman late in the first half for the Jets (2-7-1, 1-3). Luke Bruner recorded 13 saves.

Cubs blank Panthers

MADISON — Jennings County came out on the short end of a 9-0 decision at Madison.

Deken Simpson posted 11 saves for the Panthers (1-11).

North routs Dragons

No. 4 Columbus North dropped only nine games in the five matches in rolling to a 5-0 win against Silver Creek.

Hank Lin beat Camden Smith 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, Austin Clark topped Alex Smith 6-4, 6-4 at No. 2 singles and Steven Sun defeated Riley Clift 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Bull Dogs (15-2).

North’s Amrit Kar and Anvay Atram downed Evan Chavalier and Chase Richardson at No. 1 doubles, and Parth Shah and Parth Gupta blanked Cohen Cissel and Brennan Cooper at No. 2 doubles, both by 6-0, 6-0 scores.

Cougars blank Lancers

EDINBURGH —Trinity Lutheran won all five matches in straight sets in a 5-0 win at Edinburgh.

Solomon Hall beat Austin Brockman 6-3, 7-6 (2) at No. 1 singles, Jack Stuckwish topped Milas Burkman 6-1, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Nathan Finke defeated Bailey Totten 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Cougars.

Trinity blanked the Lancers (6-9) 6-0, 6-0 at both doubles spots. Nathan Voelker and Jonathan Neewedle beat Teddy Crawhorn and Braylon Lenkner at No. 1 doubles, and Will Gaussman and Max Peters topped Anduan Chavez and Jayson Music at No. 2 doubles.

VOLLEYBALL

New Albany tops North

Columbus North was competitive in the first and third sets in a 25-18, 25-13, 25-18 loss to New Albany.

Karen Dutro led the Bull Dogs (7-11) with five kills and three blocks. Katelynn Mabis pounded five kills, Reese Edwards recorded seven assists, Kennedy Horn had three blocks, Emily Stair notched 16 digs and Emma Burns served two aces.

Burns also added five assists for North.

Jets sweep Spartans

SHELBYVILLE — Hauser moved one step closer to an MHC title with a 25-13, 25-18, 25-15 win at Southwestern (Shelby)

Kenze Bostic led the Jets (16-6, 4-0) with 11 kills and five blocks. Adrianna Musillami recorded 33 assists, Kyra Meister notched 11 digs and Mattie Foster served six aces.

Also for Hauser, Charlie Clark tallied eight kills and six digs, Aniston Bostic had seven kills and three blocks and Kayden Miller added one assist and two aces. Kenze Bostic and Clark each notched six digs, Paige McDaniel had two blocks and Meister served four aces.

Lancers top Crusaders

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh posted a 25-13, 25-7, 25-10 win against Columbus Christian.

Gracie Crawhorn recorded 10 kills, one block, two digs and one ace; MacKenzie Bieker had one block, two digs and one ace and Kyah Streeval notched 21 assists and one ace to lead the Lancers (12-4). Mia Dodson had one block, and Zoey Sida and Jessica Walsh each served one ace.

Emma Murray led the Crusaders (4-10) with three kills, 11 digs and three aces. Anika Jenkins had one solo and one assist block, and Grace Johnson recorded two assists.

Also for Columbus Christian, Natalie Sanders pounded one kill, Eden Ridder had one assist and four digs. Emma Sewell notched one assist and one ace, and Alexys Murray added three digs and one ace.

Panthers roll vs. Lions

RUSHVILLE — Jennings County had little trouble in a 25-13, 25-14, 25-15 win at Rushville.

Zioe Suhre pounded six kills, Avynn Belding and Megan Vogel each had three blocks and Taylor Mowery served eight aces for the Panthers (16-8).

Eagles handle Clovers

CLOVERDALE — Brown County cruised in the first two sets on its way to a 25-10, 25-10, 25-20 Western Indiana Conference win at Cloverdale.

Abigail Watson pounded 15 kills, Anna Stogsdill recorded 13 assists, Cady Kemp had one block, Londyn Koester notched 12 digs and Liz Roush served five aces to lead the Eagles (6-12, 4-1).

Also for Brown County, Roush tallied five kills, Madilyn Hawley added four kills and eight assists and Morgan Osborn had nine assists. Milly Patrick notched five digs, and Kemp and Emma Lucas each served two aces.

South Decatur falls

GREENSBURG —South Decatur twice had one-set leads, but Waldron rallied for a 21-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-12, 15-9 MHC victory.

The Cougars fell to 10-11 overall and 1-5 in the MHC.

Trinity cruises to win

CROTHERSVILLE — Class A No. 2 Trinity Lutheran rolled to a 25-11, 25-18, 25-15 win at Crothersville.

Carson Bowling pounded 14 kills, Addison Darlage recorded 37 assists, Bailey Tabeling and Laina Klinge each had two blocks, Laura Roeder notched 12 digs and Drew Hubbard served three aces to lead the Cougars (14-5).

Also for Trinity, Ava Blomenburg tallied seven kills, Allison Ward had six digs, Darlage added five digs and two aces and Tabeling served two aces.

Owls topple Panthers

NORTH VERNON — Jennings County played Seymour to a scoreless tie in the first half, but the Owls scored four times in the second half to claim a 4-0 Hoosier Hills Conference win.

Seymour outshot the Panthers (4-8-1, 1-5) 20-4. Alayna Phillips posted 14 saves.
