Fred William McCarter

COLUMBUS, INDIANA

Fred William McCarter, age 53, went to his heavenly home on September 22, 2022, peacefully surrounded by his family at home in Columbus, Indiana. He was born on November 23, 1968, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Donna (Cissell) Sinclair and William Saunders but raised in north central Indiana in Carroll County.

Fred graduated from Carroll High School (Flora) and then earned a degree in accounting from the Indiana University School of Business. After a short time working for a public accounting firm, his entrepreneurial spirit helped him start his first of several very successful tax consulting businesses including his most recent, Aviation Tax Consultants.

Fred married Lisa Beale on May 13, 1989, in Delphi, Indiana and they were blessed with 3 children.

Fred spent many years coaching his sons in youth sports, especially PAAL football, and was his daughter’s biggest cheerleader in all of her activities. He was also the best “Pops” to his grandkids, always supporting them in everything they did. Fred’s faith and his family were the most important things in his life. Fred was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, and his faith was evident to all who knew him by the way he lived and loved. He recognized that he was blessed beyond measure.

Fred was all about living life to its fullest. A lot of people dream about doing things; Fred DID them. His dreams included: being the owner of his own company, a private pilot, a race car driver, a football coach that took his team to many championship games, living on a lake, owning some hunting land, taking family trips, and traveling on hunting adventures. He achieved all these dreams and many more.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Casey (Kevin) Partridg; son, KJ (Alex); son, Cole; four grandchildren, Rowan, Della, Sylvi and Margo Partridge; his mother, Donna Sinclair; and his stepfather, Dennis Alexander. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Renee Vincent and his nephew, Travis Vincent.

The Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church; the Reverends Mark Teike and Tim Carter will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 27th at the Harrison Lake Country Club in Columbus, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Columbarium Fund or the American Brain Tumor Association.
