Sfc. Marshall E. Jost, 67, of Columbus, passed from this world Sunday, August 28, 2022 at his home.
Marshall was born February 27, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Mark Edward and Maxine Lois Baker Jost. On March 18, 2016, he married Kimberly Deen. Mr. Jost served in the United States Army for over 20 years, eventually achieving the rank of Sargent First Class. He was extremely proud of his military service and a very proud patriot. Marshall loved listening to music and spending time with his wife in their back yard, sitting around the firepit.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberly; son, Sean Jost of Texas; step-daughter, Brittany (Jeffrey Kempf) Deen of Columbus; daughters, Patricia Jost, Chandra Jost; three grandchildren; brother, Merle (Lisa) Jost of Columbus; nephews, Nathan, Brent, Brian Jost and niece, Tabitha Jost.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mark Jost and sister-in-law, Diane Jost.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Lambert Cemetery. Military honors will be presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
