Local residents participate in Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The Greater Indiana Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association hosted its Walk to End Alzheimer’s at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Funds raised through the walk support awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. In 2021, the Columbus walk raised more than $94,000.

This year’s total was not available from the association at Republic deadline.

More than 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s disease, cared for by more than 11 million family caregivers. In Indiana, there are 110,000 people living with the disease and 216,000 caregivers.
