James “J.P.” Von Fange

James “J.P.” Von Fange, 40, of Columbus, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Columbus Regional Hospital.

J.P. was born July 20, 1982, in Columbus, Indiana, the son of Alan Von Fange and Debra Deitz Abel. On December 15, 2017, he married Jessica L. Hendrickson.

James worked as a team leader for Rightway Fasteners, Inc.

Survivors include his wife, Jessica; sons, Kaleb Von Fange, Jacob Von Fange; daughters, Bethany Von Fange, Kaylie Tolbert, Khloe Tolbert; honorary daughters, Ruth Fields, Kaitlyn Lipshaw; mother, Debra Abel of Sebring, Florida; mother-in-law, Jennifer Hendrickson of North Vernon; siblings, David (Angie) Von Fange and Deena Von Fange, both of Kentucky.

He was preceded in death by his father, Alan; step-father, George Abel; grandparents, Paul and Geneva Deitz.

In keeping with the family’s request, cremation will take place and a memorial service for J.P. will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Matthew Jung officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Inurnment will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in Jonesville.
