Treasurer’s office announces fall property taxes are due Nov. 10

COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Bartholomew County Treasurer’s Office has announced that fall property taxes are due Thursday, Nov. 10.

The office is reminding taxpayers that while this due date is set, the treasurer’s office will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 8 for the fall Election Day.

Options to pay fall property taxes before the Nov. 10 deadline include:

By mail

Taxpayers should send their payment to the Bartholomew County Treasurer, Post Office Box 1986, Columbus, Ind. 47202. Payments sent by mail must be postmarked on or before Nov. 10 to be considered on time.

By Dropbox

A 24-hour drop box is located at the Government Office Building, 440 Third St. An additional drop box is located at the back entrance to the building.

At the bank

Several local banks will be accepting payments prior to the due date. Centra Credit Union, First Financial Bank, Jackson County Bank, Horizon Bank and German American will accept payments.

Paying online

Taxpayers may pay by credit or debit card, or e-check, at www.bartholomew.in.gov (paperless billing). The office has added the option of paying by PayPal and Venmo through the Invoice Cloud online service. Note: Venmo is available by mobile device only. Please note that a convenience fee will be assessed for all online payments.
