Jeffrey Dale Miller, age 63, of Salem Missouri passed away on October 1, 2022, on the farm he loved. Jeffrey was born on April 27th 1959 in Columbus, Indiana to John and Kathryn Miller. He attended Brown County High school and then joined the Airforce as a security specialist with combat controllers in an Airforce special ops group.
After his honorable discharge from the military, he obtained his masters in mechanical engineering from Purdue University followed by his PHD. He worked as a nuclear engineer for the Navy in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii until 2003, then as a chief civilian engineer for Scott Airforce base in Shiloh, Illinois until his retirement in 2008. He was a proud member of the Shriners and Mason’s.
Throughout his life he loved building old cars. Following his retirement he enjoyed farming, raising cattle, and tinkering in the garage on anything that would run. He was proud of his 80 acre farm in Salem, Missouri and enjoyed raising beef cattle. He was a quiet man who would do anything for his friends and his family. Many remember him inviting them to fish in his pond or to bring their cars up for him to look at.
Jeffrey Miller is survived by his two loving children Kera Hayworth (Kyle Hayworth) of Nashville, Indiana and Joshua Miller of Saint Louis, Missouri, his four grandchildren (Trevor, Olivia, Jaxson, and Keavenly), his brother Terry Miller (Vicki Miller) of Columbus, Indiana, and his wife of one year, Tammy Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents John Dale Watson Miller and Kathryn Marie Miller. A memorial will take place back in his hometown of Brown County, Indiana at Beck’s Grove Christian Church on October 22, 2022 at 2 PM.
