Police seek tips in shooting incidents

Columbus Police Department investigators are seeking information in regards to three separate reports of shots fired in the last week, including one that left a person wounded.

At 5 p.m. Oct. 12, CPD officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 900 block of 11th Street, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. No injuries were reported to the officers investigating the incident.

The second report of shots fired occurred on Saturday at approximately 3:30 a.m., after a man advised that an unknown person approached him in the 1100 block of California Street and discharged a firearm into the ground near him after an argument, Harris said.

The third incident under investigation involves a woman who was reportedly shot in the 900 block of California Street at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Sunday. The woman was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound, Harris said.

All three incidents are currently under investigation by the Columbus Police Department Criminal Investigations Division.
