Two structures in Columbus will be among hundreds of landmarks around the globe that will be bathed in teal light on Thursday to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s disease.
Columbus City Hall and the Robert N. Stewart Memorial Bridge in downtown Columbus are among at least a dozen in Indiana and 800 around the world that will participate in the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America’s “Light the World in Teal” event.
“Every person and place that participates in this global initiative is making a difference in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease, and the more that join, the more awareness we will raise about Alzheimer’s,” said AFA President and CEO Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr.
The foundation also is encouraging individuals to raise Alzheimer’s awareness by “going teal” Thursday by wearing teal or posting photos on their social media platforms using the hashtag #AFALightTheWorldInTeal.
More information can be found at www.lighttheworldinteal.com, and a list of participating sites can be found at lighttheworldinteal.com/light-a-building-teal/.
