Albert (Bert) Morris Ochs passed away Tuesday afternoon, November 1st 2022, at Four Seasons Health Center in Columbus, Indiana. Mr. Ochs had been married to his loving wife, Carolyn Jane (Clark) Ochs for 66 years, having married on September 27, 1953, at the 1st Baptist Church in North Vernon. Mrs. Ochs preceded him in death in April 2020.

Mr. Ochs was born September 25, 1933, in Vernon, Indiana, to Charles and Hellen (Wildey) Ochs. He worked for Cummins Engine Company for 29 years, retiring in January 1988. He also worked many years at the Par 3 Golf Course in Columbus, beginning in 1998.

Mr. Ochs graduated from Vernon High School in 1951. During his teenage years, along with several friends, he enjoyed playing guitar and singing country music on the WOCH radio station in North Vernon. His future wife Carolyn was a fan and the rest was history.

After retiring, Mr. Ochs enjoyed making wooden items with a scroll saw and selling them at craft shows along with his wife, Carolyn. Mr. Ochs also loved playing golf and spending winters in Florida with Carolyn.

Survivors include son, Tony (Luann) Ochs of Camas, WA; daughter, Carla (Terry) Lowe of Columbus; four grandchildren, Kevin (Cala) Ochs, Tracy (Chad) Zagar, Melissa (Kelsey Sutton) Rodriguez, and Aaron (Pat) Ferguson; seven great-grandchildren, Kameryn Kelly, Lincoln Ochs, Luna Ochs, Logan Zagar, Archer Zagar, Cruz Rodriguez, and Liliana Ferguson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and sister Charlona (Ochs) Long.

A public visitation will be held on Monday, November 7th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Jewell- Rittman Funeral Home in Columbus, with a graveside service on Tuesday, November 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus.
