16 nonprofits get grants from Centra

Sixteen local nonprofits are receiving grants from Centra Credit Union to further their missions. Organizations were nominated by Centra Team Members who feel passionately about the work these nonprofits do in our community.

The following organizations received a grant of $2,500 this year: Advocates for Children, Bartholomew County Humane Society, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bartholomew County, Columbus Parks Foundation, Developmental Services Inc (DSI), Foundation for Youth, Heritage Fund, Human Services Inc, Ivy Tech Columbus food pantry, Lincoln Central Neighborhood Family Center, Love Chapel, NAACP Columbus/Bartholomew, Our Hospice of South Central Indiana, and Su Casa.

A couple of organizations were also nominated by multiple teams at Centra and are receiving more than one grant. Sans Souci was awarded $5,000, and Turning Point was awarded $7,500.

“Centra team members are really involved in our Communities, and they love being able to support the causes they care about each year. Nonprofit organizations are all about ‘People Helping People,’ and we love helping them achieve their missions,” said Centra Director of Community Involvement Jenni Carr.

A total of 40 organizations have been awarded grants through nominations by Centra team members. A complete list of organizations receiving grants can be found at Centra.org.

“These organizations provide valuable services in Bartholomew County and the surrounding area to help the community thrive and grow. Supporting them with these donations is just one way we can achieve our vision of creating value for the communities we serve,” Centra President and CEO Rick Silvers said.
