Wind gusts of up to 45 mph forecast for central Indiana today into Wednesday

COLUMBUS, Ind. —  Bartholomew County Emergency Management is warning local residents about strong wind gusts that will occur today into Wednesday as a cold front tracks through central Indiana.

Southerly wind gusts at 30 to as much as 45 mph can be expected across central
Indiana today into tonight, particularly across the northwestern half of the area. Wind gusts on Wednesday will be slightly lower, topping out around 35 mph, said Shannan Cooke, emergency management director.

Residents operating a high profile vehicle or a semi should be aware of the wind gusts, as well as those who have outdoor holiday decorations, she said.
