Holiday season opens with ‘A Not So Silent Night’

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A Not So Silent Night, described as one of the most festive nights of the year in downtown Columbus, attracted hundreds of visitors to explore downtown shops that were open late and to stop in for a visit with Santa and pick up a candy cane.

One of the first holiday events of the season for Columbus, the Bartholomew County Historical Society hosted Santa and his reindeer as part of the event.

The Columbus Area Arts Council had an opening reception for its new 50/50 exhibit, in which local artists and community members contribute to a group exhibition at the 411 Gallery. Panels are provided by the council for free to 50 participants for each to create a work of art, which are then sold for $50 each to benefit future gallery programming.

At the 6th Street Arts Alley Event, dancers from Dancers Studio Inc. provided pop-up performances of scenes from “The Nutcracker.”
