Bull Dogs bounce Owls

SEYMOUR — Columbus North won seven matches by pin and another by forfeit Tuesday in rolling to a 53-23 victory at Seymour.

Bryce Hawkins (126 pounds), Justice Thornton (132), Jason Shuey (138), Asher Ratliff (145), Josiah Green (152), Evan Saevre (170), Jose Ramirez (182) all won by pin for the Bull Dogs. Cody Thurnall (285) won by forfeit.

North’s other win came from Liam Phillips (160) with a technical fall.

Hornets top Crusaders

Columbus Christian opened the 2023 portion of its schedule with a 68-56 Southern Roads Conference loss to Medora.

Branson Carr led the Crusaders (6-9, 2-1) with 20 points. Jacob Bell scored 11, Jordan Burton had nine and Peyton Walden added eight.

Stars stop Jennings

BEDFORD — Class 4A No. 7 Bedford North Lawrence remained unbeaten in the Hoosier Hills Conference with a win against Jennings County.

Juliann Woodard led the Panthers (10-4, 2-2) with 12 points. Megan Vogel added eight.

Eagles fall to Panthers

NASHVILLE — Bloomington South jumped out to a 35-19 halftime lead and went on to post a 56-31 victory at Brown County.

Lexie Austin led the Eagles (8-6) with 10 points. Abagail Watson added nine.
