La QUINTA, Calif. — Tyler Duncan fired a 5-under-par 67 in Friday’s second round and is tied for third place in The American Express.
Starting on No. 10, the Columbus North graduate bogeyed his first hole, but came back with birdies on the next three holes and shot 2-under 34 on his first nine. He had four birdies and a bogey on the front nine for a 3-under 33.
Duncan, who was tied for second following an opening-round 64 on Thursday, is five shots behind leader Davis Thompson, who is 18-under 126. Jon Rahm is second at 16-under 128, and Duncan is tied with Tom Kim, J.T. Poston and Sungjae Im at 13-under 131.
