East falls to Brownsburg

BROWNSBURG — Eleventh-ranked Columbus East wrapped up its regular season Friday with a 50-20 loss to Brownsburg, which is ranked No. 2 in the state and No. 30 in the nation.

Liam Krueger (126 pounds) won by pin for the Olympians. Jackson Fox (182) won by injury default.

East’s Tommy Morrill (220) won by technical fall. Tyler Lake (170) won by decision.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Mohawks rally past Jets

WALDRON — Hauser led 12-11 after one quarter, but Waldron rallied for a 47-38 Mid-Hoosier Conference win.

Ledger Gelfius led the Jets (6-8, 2-2) with 14 points. Stryker Gill scored nine, and Jake Barriger added seven.

Panthers down Floyd

NORTH VERNON — Class 4A No. 10 Jennings County led 56-31 after three quarters in a 73-55 Hoosier Hills Conference win against Floyd Central.

Keegan Manowitz led the Panthers (14-1) with 18 points and eight assists. Lane Zohrlaut scored 12 points, Parker Elmore and Darius Thomas each had 10 points, Owen Law added nine points and six rebounds and Justin Ramey chipped in seven points.

Lancers stop Spartans

SHELBYVILLE — Edinburgh had little trouble in a 64-39 MHC win at Southwestern (Shelby).

Caleb Dewey led the Lancers (8-5, 2-3) with 21 points. Connor Ramey scored scored 14, and Jarrett Turner added 12.

Warriors top Cougars

SCOTTSBURG — Scottsburg jumped out to a 25-16 halftime lead and went on to hand South Decatur a 50-30 defeat.

Jacob Scruggs led the Cougars (8-6) with 12 points.

Spartans topple Lancers

SHELBYVILLE — Edinburgh led 28-27 after three quarters, but Southwestern (Shelby) rallied for a 44-40 MHC win.

Gracie Crawhorn led the Lancers (6-15, 0-4) with 18 points. Kenna Streeval scored 11, and Lillie Goff added seven.
