Mary Lou Tellman, 86, passed away Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at Four Seasons Healthcare Center. Mary Lou was born March 7, 1936 in Columbus, Indiana. She was the daughter of Louis and Ruth Tellman. She graduated from Columbus High School in 1954.
Mary Lou was a long-time member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She worked at Union Starch, Irwin Management, and Irwin Union Bank where she worked for approximately 45 years.
She enjoyed birdwatching, playing cards and dominos, and she loved flowers, especially roses. She was also a fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Colts, and the Indiana Pacers.
Mary Lou is survived by two nieces, Cheryl and Janet Tellman; brother-in-law, Robert Webb; and sister-in-law, Marie Tellman. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Tellman; and her sister, Norma Webb.
A funeral service for Mary Lou will be held Monday, February 6 at 11 a.m. at Hathaway-Myers Chapel with Pastor Mark Teike and Pastor Tim Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Friends and family may gather for visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations in her name may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran School.
