Duncan tied for 56th after first-round 71

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. — Tyler Duncan carded an even-par 71 in Thursday’s opening round and is tied for 56th place in The Genesis Invitational.

Starting on the back nine, the Columbus North graduate shot 1-over 37 on his first nine and 1-under 34 on the front. He had three birdies and three bogeys.

Play was suspendedwith nine players having one or two holes left to play. Max Homa and Keith Mitchell lead the tournament at 7-under 64.
