Lois J. Noblitt

COLUMBUS, INDIANA

Lois Jean Noblitt, 90, Columbus, Indiana, passed peacefully into the arms of her Jesus Tuesday, February 14th, 2023.

Lois was born August 18th, 1932, to Jeremiah ‘Jerry’ &Dessie Logston in Brodhead, KY. She was joined in marriage to Donald Noblitt, November 17th, 1956. Don &Lois’ family includes sons, Wayne ‘Helen’ Pattengill, Steve ‘Gwen’ Pattingill, Todd ‘Mary’ Noblitt; grandchildren, Dustin ‘Jen’ Pattengill, Daniel ‘Lindsey’ Pattengill, Rachel Burke, Bryan Stickans &Chris Noblitt; great-grandchildren, Emma, Olivia, Addison, Ella, Cameron and Nora Pattengill, Tristen and Adam Burke. Lois is also survived by brother, Henry ‘Phala’ Logston; sisters, Fern Reeves ‘Mike Woodend’, Carol ‘Mel’ Rudicel. Predeceased by her parents; husband, Don; brothers, James Baugh, Paul and Woodrow Logston; and sisters, Rose Smith, Ruth Beljan.

Her early years were lived raising tobacco with her family on the family farm near Brodhead, Kentucky. Later her family moved to Brown County and then to Columbus, Indiana where she lived out her remaining life raising her family while working at the Snack Shop and Cosco. Lois and Don were members of Columbus A/G. Lois love for life and her family was so evident in the warmth of family meals graced by an abundance of her home cooked meals and times around their table blessed with hers and Don’s stories shared with much joy and laughter. Tending her beautiful flower gardens brought her &others much joy.

Lois had asked her grandson, Daniel Pattengill to officiate her celebration of life, sharing heartfelt memories. Serving as pallbearers are Dustin Pattengill, Bryan Stickans, Chris Noblitt, Mel Rudicel, Mike Woodend and Tristen Burke. The family would like to thank her caregiving team led by Brenda Clark for their TLC during her final years lived at Parkside in Columbus. A heartfelt thank you to the nurses and caregivers at Hospice of South Central IN for their gentle care in her last few days of life.

The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at Barkes, Weaver &Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. A live stream of the funeral service will be available at barkesweaverglick.com.

Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Noblitt will be laid to rest with her husband at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison, Indiana.
