SAN DIEGO, CA
Carol Diane McDaniel, 74, of San Diego, CA, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at her home in California. She was born in Columbus, Indiana, December 25, 1948, to Ernest R. and Bernice L. Merriman Pittman. She married Ronald K. McDaniel in Columbus, July 22, 1972.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald; children, Jeremy McDaniel and Jennifer McDaniel of San Diego; and sister, Cheryl (Harry) Taylor of Columbus; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Carol was preceded in death by her parents and brother.
Carol graduated from the Indiana University School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse (RN) and retired in 2010 after 42 years of service as a healthcare professional. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, walking on the beach, and playing board games.
A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at a later date. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
