Panthers survive scare, top BNL in 2 OTs

SEYMOUR — Class 4A No. 9 Jennings County rallied from nine points down near the end of regulation to send Tuesday’s Seymour Sectional opener to overtime, then pulled out a 72-71 double-overtime win against Bedford North Lawrence.

The Panthers (21-2) got back-to-back 3-pointers from Carter Kent and three free throws from Keegan Manowitz late in regulation to tie it. Manowitz hit three more free throws to tie it in the second overtime and two more to win it.

Manowitz finished with 25 points and nine rebounds to lead Jennings. Kent scored 16 points, and Owen Law added 11 points. Justin Ramey also grabbed nine rebounds.

The Panthers advance to play Jeffersonville in Friday’s first semifinal at 6 p.m.
