It was just two weeks ago that Hauser went on the road and posted a 46-41 victory against Milan.

Tonight, those two teams will meet again with a little more on the line. The Jets and Indians will square off at around 7:45 p.m. in the semifinals of the South Ripley Sectional.

“We were pleased with our win against them, but we weren’t satisfied,” Hauser coach Trent Moorhead said. “Our guys know there were things that we can improve on from our performance early in the season.”

Milan is 9-15, but has won three in a row, including a 59-56 victory against Switzerland County in Tuesday’s sectional opener.

“They’re playing well right now,” Moorhead said. “They play hard. They have multiple guys that can score and shoot the ball. We’re going to have to defend, play hard and play smart to get it done.”

The Jets (11-12), who received a first-round bye are a young team of mostly sophomores and freshmen and are led by sophomores Ledger Gelfius, Alex Cord and Taeshaun Tungate.

North Decatur (19-5) and host South Ripley (11-12) will meet in today’s first semifinal at 6 p.m. Tonight’s winners will meet for the sectional title at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Hauser fell to both North Decatur and South Ripley by 13 points during the regular season.

“Our total attention is on Friday night,” Moorhead said. “You can’t punch a ticket to Saturday without winning on Friday. Our guys have been focused all week long and are excited and ready to go.”
