Two arrested after traffic stop

A Bartholomew County Sheriff deputy arrested two individuals on drug-related charges after a traffic stop on I-65 at 11:22 p.m. Sunday.

Deputy Dylan Prather was traveling northbound on I-65 when he observed a silver pickup with a license plate light out. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle during which Prather made contact with the two occupants of the vehicle. During the traffic stop the driver, Justin Walls, 41, of Muncie, admitted to having a methamphetamine pipe inside the vehicle, said Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Detective Dane Duke. Walls was also found to have a suspended driver’s license, he said.

A search of the vehicle resulted in locating methamphetamine, a pipe for the ingestion of methamphetamine, and a handgun which was reported stolen out of Muncie. Walls is a convicted felon and has as well as having a domestic battery conviction which restricts him from possessing a firearm, Duke said.

The passenger, Hailey Antrim, 34, of Muncie, was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Walls was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of felon in possession of a firearm, a Level 5 felony, theft – stolen firearm, a Level 5 felony, possession of paraphernalia, a Level 5 felony, possession of a firearm by domestic batterer, a Class A misdemeanor, driving while suspended with a prior conviction, a Class A misdemeanor and possession of paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor. He is being held on a 72-hour hold at the jail

Antrim was transported to the Bartholomew County Jail on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony and possession of paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor. Antrim has since been released on her own recognizance from jail, jail officials said.
